An open house for parents is held before every one of our gatherings. They are a great opportunity for parents and youth to get to know the OBY team and learn more about our program.
At OBY, we value Black history. It is important for Black youth to learn Black history because it highlights the positive contributions of Black people in the past. This is essential for Black people, Black youth, in particular, as they are bombarded with negative information and stereotypes which can be damaging to their self-esteem. In every OBY program, we plan to incorporate Black history in a fun, engaging activity.
Building a community of Black Youth, confident in their identity. We are committed to create strong youth through mentorship, advocacy and diversity.
